St. Lawrence College 2012 OCAA schedule

The St. Lawrence College Vikings released their 2012 soccer schedules recently for both the men's and women's teams. Both teams are looking to improve on last year's results, with the men finishing in 7th with an 0-4-3 record, and the women in 5th with a 2-4-1 record, and just outside of the playoff picture.

Both teams kick off Saturday, September 8th at Centennial College in Scarborough before returning home for a 3-game homestand beginning Friday, September 14th. Each schedule is eight games long with four home and four away games, playing each team in their 9-team divisions a single time.

The women kicked off their pre-season schedule with three games in two days up in Quebec on August 24th and 25th. The first game against Bishops University Gaiters was en route to being a scoreless draw until Bishops scored with 10 minutes left in the game to win 1-0. The games against Concordia University and John Abbott College on the Saturday were also losses, but the Vikings tallied twice in each of them, losing 4-2 and 5-2.

Their next pre-season match is tonight out at RMC at 5pm against the RMC women's squad on one of the Navy Bay fields. This game was originally scheduled to be played in the new dome, but was moved due to some required maintenance. The women Vikings wrap up their pre-season with a game against Ajax United on the main St. Lawrence field on Saturday, September 1 at 5pm.
